What Does It Takes to be an ICT-IV Student?

Information Communication Technology, a subject for an open-minded, patient, responsible, and skillful student.

At this generation, most kids know how to manipulate computers, parts of applications and the uses. Good eyesight and knowing the parts of a computer are good traits you must have to start with.

We, in the Special Science class are not new in terms of computer lessons because when we are still freshmen we are already exposed to hands on activities regarding computers. And even in our primary years we are already exposed on computers and other gadgets, so being an ICT student is just at the tip of our fingers.

My Dream, My Future

“God does wonderful things that people cannot understand. He does so many miracles they cannot be counted.” Job 9:10*
Challenges give color to our lives, pain teaches us to fight and heal a wounded heart, and failures train us to stand and persevere to achieve our goals. Life is indeed an adventure but a wonderful one.
Every individual lives because of a dream. A dream to make a better life. A dream that needs perseverance, dedication and hard work to achieve it. A dream that is full of hindrances that mold everyone to be a better person.
I always dreamt to uplift my family’s life status. I want to give back the things they gave and sacrificed just to feed and educate me. Because of this dream, I must live and survive and dedicate myself to my studies.
I must swim across every ocean, climb every mountain and hills, explore every forests, pass every desert, stay tough in every storm that hits me because these are doors of challenges that I need to unlock for me to achieve my goals in life.
I’d always wanted to be an Accountant because I know and I believe that that is for me. That someday I will be successful and well known, because ten years from now, I will be what I always wanted to be. J

Kannawidan: Ylocos Festival

The province of Ilocos Sur has recently celebrated its Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. This year marks the province’s 193rd year based on the Royal Decree dated February 2, 1818 separating Ilocos Sur from Ilocos Norte. Prior to this date, the stretch of Bangui in Ilocos Norte down to Luna La Union is called Ylocos which is a term to refer to the coastal inhabitants. It literally meant “from the lowlands”.Justify Full

Ilocos Sur especially Vigan is branded as the Heart of Ilocandia by the Philippine Historical Committee. It’s a province very rich in culture and heritage. Kannawidan means traditions and this province got to showcase all what she has. On January 31 to February 6, 2011 several activities were lined up for the celebration.

Partuat ken Patanor Trade Fair showcased the products of the province such as longanisa, bagnet, garlic, bibingka, tinubong and many other foods including handicrafts. There was even eating contests of these delicacies of Ilocos Sur as well as basi drinking contest. Traditional games were played and bingo as well. There were Sarsuela and Komedya Ilocana which were shown. Choir competition was also held.

Reflection

Third Grading is a bit tough months for me because we did so many things for the fulfillment of our requirements.
Making a web page using what we learned from our exercises is not that hard because we already have an idea but what we did is not that good as others did because they put something that we didn't know how to do. but it's alright it is just merely discovering and exploring the world of computers.

Keeping In Mind Our Mother Tongue

We, the Ilocano people are indigenous to coastal areas of northern Luzon in the Philippines. Today, we, the Ilocanos are the dominant ethnic group in northern Luzon, and their language (Ilocano) has become the lingua franca of the region, as Ilocano traders provide highland peoples with their primary link to the commerce of the outside world. Ilocandia is the term given to the traditional homeland of the Ilocano people; present-day Ilocandia roughly encompasses regions 1 through 3 of the Philippines (the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and parts of Central Luzon), as well as the Cordillera Administrative Region.
We have our own native language and that is Iloco. We must be proud of it because it is the third dialect most widely use in the whole country.
Our province is so much proud with the people who are also proud with our Mother Tongue because they are known to be heroes who keep our dialect live and bloom together with our culture and traditions.

New Year, New Me

Welcoming the New Year is one of the world’s oldest and most widely celebrated customs. In many places people stay up late to see the old year out and the New Year in.
New Year’s Day is a time for entertaining, visiting, and gift-giving. Churches hold services on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Because it marks the beginning of the year, New year’s Day is thought of as a good time to make New Year’s resolutions- the resolve to do better in the year just beginning than you did in the year just ended.
Be thrifty, studious, patient and more time with God- simple words but hard to do. Last year, I am a truant and that’s my main problem, I cannot save money and I cannot focus on my studies well not just like before. This year I want to spend more time with God even only once in a week. I didn’t have the chan e to do this before.
I could hardly do my resolutions sometimes but I hope that I can do better this year. :)
