“Don’t be afraid; I am here to give you good news, great great joy for all the people. Today a savior has been born to you in David’s town; he is the Messiah and the Lord. Let this be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.”- Luke 2:10-12
Christmas is probably the most awaited season of every Filipinos poor and rich alike. It is a joyous holiday, marked by family gatherings, colorful and bright decorations, traditional songs, and the exchange of gifts.
“Pagmamahalan and Pagbibigayan” is what Christmas really means to us. Nothing is happier than celebrating this season with the one you love. December 16, 2011 is the most unforgettable moment of my high school life. At exactly 4:00 in the afternoon, we had our Christmas program in our fatigue uniform. This is the only time that we can have this program because it is the last time that we are complete before Christmas. We spent two hours dancing, playing and eating. While giving our gifts we hug each one of us while saying Merry Christmas. Tears were rolling down our cheeks because of joy and sadness inside our hearts that there are only less than 4 months for us to spend together.
Two hours is not enough to express our feelings during that time. Love is in the air. This is the last Christmas program that we had during our high school life- the shortest yet the most meaningful. We didn’t have luxurious decorations and dresses but we did enjoy it and spent it with all our hearts as one.
We are soon to graduate, two hours may not be enough to say our goodbyes but this two hours gave a meaning to IV- Maxwell’s heart.
